The new BM&M deck arrived this week and it is the biggest one we have on site. It was a precision exercise to get it through the factory door. Now it is in place ready to be connected. We are expecting great things from this deck in 2019!
The 2017 Laragon season finished in mid July. 2018 season is looking beautiful with blossom brightening up the district at the moment. Laragon produced some nice compost this year, give Mark a call to purchase some.
In December 2017 Laragon held a grower meeting at Bickfords 23rd St Distillery. Information was presented about the 2016 processing year and the improvements that were being implemented for 2017. It was a very well attended event and everyone appeared to enjoy themselves.
Maintenance of the processing equipment is almost complete, in time for our new field product dryer from the UK which is due to arrive in December. It will be all hands on deck to get the dryer installed and commissioned prior to the 2017 processing year.
Laragon has completed its second batch of Compost, and we have had good reports from the analysis received from the Environmental Analysis Laboratory. The first turn of the raw material happened back in December last year. Eight turns later and 4 months on, we now have the finished product ready to go. Half of the 1500 tonnes has already been […]
Laragon has turned the key on the huller & sheller and has begun processing some early season nonpareil. This early product is very dry, yet still processing nicely. 24 hour production will kick in from the 29th of February and we hope to continue the season swiftly with continuing good results.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our customers and suppliers! We have been busy here at Laragon installing new equipment that has recently arrived from the USA. The new gravity table will speed up and improve the cleaning section which is where our previous bottleneck would often be. We look forward to working with you all soon as the new […]
Maintenance is almost complete on the plant now and we only have the hull augers to be serviced before we are finished. All staff have had time for a well-earned break before the start of season 2016. New machinery is on the water from the USA, which will allow us to clean kernel more efficiently by removing greater amounts of […]
It is the end of the season for 2015. After a very dry start, we have received a lot of deliveries above 6% kernel moisture towards the end. This has slowed production down considerably and although having the second largest crop ever, we had envisaged being finished earlier than we did. Most varieties were finished being received by the 17th […]
It is mid April and Laragon has processed over a 1/3 of the estimated 2015 crop for our almond growers. The dry harvest and new BM&M deck has helped increase our production speed by almost 1 tonne per hour on average from previous years. Mark has prepared the pollinator roster and all growers should now have their copy. The Grower […]
