Maintenance is almost complete on the plant now and we only have the hull augers to be serviced before we are finished. All staff have had time for a well-earned break before the start of season 2016.

New machinery is on the water from the USA, which will allow us to clean kernel more efficiently by removing greater amounts of foreign material from the final product. There were times in previous season when the hulling plant had to be slowed and sometimes stopped to cope with the high FM loads that had been delivered. We hope to reduce the downtime this season once our new cleaning machinery has been installed. Minor delays in getting the machines shipped will have our installation time reduced, but should still be completed by the end of January.
